Cultural reconnection, education and heritage experiences that link families in the United States with communities, historians and institutions across the continent.
Heritage & Roots supports individuals and families in the diaspora who want a grounded, respectful reconnection with African heritage — through scholarship, language, archival research partnerships and community-hosted residencies.
The program is built with African institutions rather than for them. Local universities, museums and community organisations design and lead each engagement, and receive a majority share of programme funding.
